Once a year the New York Academy of Trial Lawyers offers its Annual Update, a statewide CLE series focused exclusively on new developments in personal injury/wrongful death litigation. The series features some of the best practitioners in New York, many of whom have been lecturing with the Annual Update for many years, allowing them to bring a depth of understanding toward what is happening in this area of the law.
The upstate New York lectures are normally held in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany. However, yielding to some strong pressure from a bunch of lawyers in the Southern Tier, this year the Academy has added a lecture in Ithaca! It is a great chance for anyone in our area who is interested in these topics to attend, (or for people in need of a bunch of CLEs to pick up 8 credits!) The Ithaca program includes a number of stellar presenters, including the Hon. Eugene Piggott who recently returned to the Supreme Court bench after serving as an Associate with the Court of Appeals for 14 years. Please see the attached flyer for details. As a side note, the Academy is a great way to earn CLE credits all year long. Members pay a one-time fee and are then able to obtain as many CLE credits as they wish for no additional cost. Check out the Academy’s website if you are interested in joining – and let me know if you have any questions!
